PCS administrators and staff receive donations for their school’s virtual pantries at the “Keep the Ball Rolling” Celebration.

On Monday, October 27, 2025, the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) recognized Shawn and Angela Ball/L&S Toyota, the Pack Family Foundation, and the Wing 2 Wing Foundation for their contribution of more than $1,000,000 to the Communities In Schools (CIS) virtual pantries throughout West Virginia.

Working with the WVDE and the United Way of Central West Virginia, the donation will help all public schools in the state address the extensive needs of students, including all schools in Putnam County. This generous donation will enable each school to receive $1,500 to provide essential items, including food, clothing, shoes, coats, and hygiene products.

The Ball family’s support began in 2021 with the launch of a comprehensive effort to support CIS schools. The program has grown in depth and resources each year and will now expand significantly thanks to the addition of the Wing 2 Wing Foundation and the Pack Family Foundation. Their objective is to raise awareness by highlighting these critical issues and utilizing the donations to collaborate with teachers and staff to support all students
