
Putnam County Schools will partner with Fruth Pharmacy to host a COVID-19 Vaccine, Booster (Pfizer and Moderna), and Flu Shot Clinic on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Hurricane High School from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Pre-registration will not be required; no appointments necessary. Additionally, children ages 5 to 11 years are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccination and can receive the Pfizer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine on Friday at the upcoming vaccination clinic.

Important Reminders:
✅ Present a copy of an insurance card when checking in at the vaccination clinic.
✅ If receiving a booster shot, please remember to bring your COVID-19 vaccine card.
✅ All students must complete a consent form, and a parent/guardian must be present.
📝 Note: Your school office has both student and adult consent forms to be completed before the vaccination clinic. The consent forms may also be obtained on the PCS website (located and linked on the home page bulletin board) at www.putnamschools.com.
COVID-19 vaccines are also available in many locations throughout our community. Check with your child’s healthcare provider, pharmacy, or county health department to see whether they offer pediatric COVID-19 vaccination. You can also find a community vaccination location by visiting vaccinate.wv.gov or calling the West Virginia COVID-19 Vaccine Info Line: 1-833-734-0965.

Winfield High School students-performers in the WHS Marching Band and Show Choir programs will perform at Gov. Justice’s Veterans Day Ceremony and the U.S. Route 35 Ribbon Cutting scheduled for today around 11:00 am!

The Putnam County Health Department (PCHD) will be offering a free walk-in flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine clinic tomorrow, November 11, 2021, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the PCHD’s office location Winfield (across from Winfield Middle School). Sept. 27, 2021: Update to Pandemic Mitigation Measures
The outlined guidance to supplement and reinforce pandemic mitigation measures adopted by the Putnam County Board of Education can be reviewed in full on the Putnam County Schools website or following the links below.
The policy enacted by the Board on September 20, 2021, and further expanded at its Special Meeting on September 24, 2021, which takes effect at the end of the school day on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, is intended to optimize the education of Putnam County Schools’ students while following all written mandates of the Putnam County Health Board and Chief Medical Officer.
The Putnam County Health Department is the contact tracing and quarantining authority in accordance with state code. Therefore, all quarantine notifications will come directly from the Putnam County Health Department, rather than Putnam County Schools.
