West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources and West Virginia University, Office of Health Affairs are promoting a Mountain State Assessment of Trends in Community Health (MATCH) survey through January 2022.
The MATCH is a survey, similar to the U.S. census, designed to collect important health information specific to West Virginians. One in 14 West Virginians will be selected to complete the MATCH. Each selected West Virginian will have three options to take the survey: online, paper, or phone. Those who complete the survey will be compensated for their time.

Putnam County Schools will partner with Fruth Pharmacy to host a COVID-19 Vaccine, Booster (Pfizer and Moderna), and Flu Shot Clinic on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Hurricane High School from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Pre-registration will not be required; no appointments necessary. Additionally, children ages 5 to 11 years are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccination and can receive the Pfizer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine on Friday at the upcoming vaccination clinic.

COVID-19 vaccines are also available in many locations throughout our community. Check with your child’s healthcare provider, pharmacy, or county health department to see whether they offer pediatric COVID-19 vaccination. Winfield High School students-performers in the WHS Marching Band and Show Choir programs will perform at Gov. Justice’s Veterans Day Ceremony and the U.S. Route 35 Ribbon Cutting scheduled for today around 11:00 am!
The ceremony will be broadcast on the West Virginia Public Broadcasting Channel as well as live-streamed on the Governor’s social media platforms.
